Escultura zoomorfa

Representación de una rana decorada con color rojo. Pertenece a la Etapa IVb (1469-1481). Las ranas estaban estrechamente ligadas con el culto al agua y eran símbolos de fertilidad y renovación. En algunas fiestas religiosas dedicadas a Tláloc y a Cintéotl, el dios del maíz maduro, se les consumía como alimento ritual y los mexicas las consideraban como anunciadoras de la lluvia, seguramente porque croan con intensidad antes de su llegada.
